Freestore Foodbank Prepares to Serve 40,000 Individuals over Holidays
Holidays are a time of family, food and generosity. We believe that every family deserves to share a holiday meal together.
Each year, the Freestore Foodbank distributes food for Thanksgiving and December holiday meals to our neighbors in need in the Tri-State. This year, we are preparing to serve as many as 40,000 individuals. Each household receives a box of food, a bag of produce, and either a chicken or turkey (depending on family size). While bigger families receive larger boxes, every family receives: canned vegetables, canned fruit, canned cranberry or pumpkin, stuffing or rice, onions, potatoes, apples, macaroni and cheese, and brownie mix or another dessert.
